Dear Hermantown Community,
We made a number of updates to our facilities over the summer. We started replacing some of the high school carpeting, and hope to do a number of rooms each year as part of a rotation. We removed the large structure from the playground in front of the Elementary School. The District, in conjunction with the Hermantown PTO, will be replacing the playground in stages with the first new structures set to arrive in October. Finally, make sure to check out the new 50-foot flagpole at Centricity Stadium-Corey Veech Field that was recently installed to honor former coach and administrator Gary Bowen.
LHB conducted a study on potential solutions to building new or expanding space at Hermantown Elementary and will be presenting its findings at a public meeting on Tuesday, Sept. 16 at 6 p.m. in the Hermantown Middle School Lecture Hall. Community members are welcome to attend and more information will be available on our school website.
Be aware that bus times will vary the first few days of school, but will quickly get into a pretty efficient schedule. Parents dropping their children off - please know that the first four or five vehicles can have students get out at the same time, which will be more efficient than cars dropping off one at a time at the door. Also, please practice patience with each other as new routines are established.
We are excited to start a new year together!
